Hide the Evidence

August 18, 2013

Billy comes home today.  Time to rid the house of male strippers, pop tarts and empty boxes of wine.  Just kidding.  I would never drink boxed wine.

No, instead I’m cleaning the kitchen for the first time in 5 days.  It wasn’t as bad as you would have expected though.  Other than cereal, the most action that kitchen saw was preheating the oven for a frozen pizza.  Didn’t I tell you what it was like when he leaves?  It was glorious.

I actually thoroughly enjoyed my week of being a hermit.   Normally I would have tried to make plans with friends, especially for Friday and Saturday night.  This time, I became a recluse, hiding in the apartment reading and writing…and becoming one of those internet cat people.  Some people can’t even begin to comprehend such a thing.  They would cringe at having so much alone time.  But I’m very much an introvert at heart, and it was just what the doctor ordered for me.  Lots of time to think….which now that you’ve seen how my brain works, is probably not the safest thing.

Now I have my extreme extrovert husband returning, and it’s time to care about things like exercise, healthy cooking, and joining society.  He’s such a buzz kill.  On the plus side, having him home means sleep will be a lot easier.  Seeing as I’m completely petrified of the dark, I’ve been using my Slacker station at night, set to the Baby Making station I’ve created (don’t judge, it’s the only one that has calmer music on it).  I can’t deny that it was a little odd to wake up at 4 A.M. and hear R Kelly’s Feelin’ On Yo Booty though.  I keeps it classy even while I’m sleeping.

Hope the rest of you had as eventful a weekend as I did.  Now just one more Beyonce dance before he’s home…
